General Conference 2010

An Invitation from David Wells

We'd like to formally welcome you to General Conference 2010! Mark your calendars for May 10 to 13, 2010 when we will be gathering at the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Our theme will be “Rooted in Relationship”—with a focus on strengthening our relationships with the Lord and one another. Each morning we will feature Bible exposition and corporate prayer and each evening will have plenary sessions with keynote speakers whose lives demonstrate our theme.

To strengthen our relationship with each other, we will kick off the first evening with a reception that will be marked by genuine Albertan hospitality and food. On Tuesday and Wednesday morning, we will spend time in “communities of practice” where we can interact with those engaged in similar ministry contexts. Thursday morning will feature mini-plenaries with our keynote speakers and other specially invited guests.

An additional feature we are planning for is a supper reception hosted by the General Officers for all lay delegates and volunteer congregational leaders who are interested in joining us. Please consider ahead of time how you can plan for your lay leadership to be represented at the Conference. The business sessions at the Conference will be conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
